Today would have been my Mother’s Birthday.
Happy Birthday Mum!
To tell you the truth, for the longest time, we struggled to get on with each other till more recently (and I am talking in the last 15 years).
There were elements in both our lives that we did not know how much it impacted each other. She had secrets that she lived with for 5 decades without a soul knowing and that secret made me feel far less worthy than I should have felt. Once it came to light, i was able to understand and then navigate the present.
By doing so, I finally after such a long time I was able to have a relationship with her.
My quote, on not being able to change the past, but by navigating the future gives us the design for a better future
