We each pick an area to improve on each week and share our daily progress and challenges, making it a social, supportive way to adjust, create or change our habits.

There’s still a lot of work to be done for self-improvement to be effective, though. I’ve been through a bunch of different improvement focuses in the last few months, including positivity, and reading. Each one has been fun to focus on, but it’s hard to keep more than one new habit going at a time—partly because it takes so much willpower.

There are not so many people on earth capable of controlling their own destiny. And what makes someone strong enough to answer the question: what is wrong with me and what will I do to change it? No so many. Most people are afraid. Are afraid of looking at each other and look at their erroneous zones, then understanding that managing their own personality is difficult. This a long term job, similar to the one of a sculptor, who needs to analyze the material and then mold it into the form he is looking forward. I repeat to myself a lot this question and this is for me the best way to create a willpower mindset and to make me succeed. To repeat what are my erroneous zones, what are the quirks of my personality that I can optimize or improve in order to get a better essence. Those are things necessary to remind. Choices that are never easy. Some days are better then other as the song… Still I will expose an exercise some ideas – seven – that although won’t make me conquer mountains will make me conquer a bit of myself and yours too (a little more at least).

1. A well-defined purpose in life

This is probably the most powerful and difficult challenge for anyone that wants to achieve something. Most of the failures and falls are provoked by a lack of a well defined purpose. There is no possibility of a strong success for the person who does not have a main purpose, or a definite goal to aim for (even an open one).

Albert Einstein: “All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling man’s life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom.”

2. Resistance and ambition to aim above mediocrity

As Albert Einstein put it: “Highly developed spirits often encounter resistance from mediocre minds”.

Leaving behind the definition of what is a great spirit and any romantic implication the fundamental in the quote is resistance. There is no hope to offer for the person who does not fight to get above the basic, the system in our organism that provides disease resistance. The main challenge is for someone not to be indifferent but to believe that each one has a mind of his own, to be a doer rather than a critic or cynic. To go ahead in life, one needs to control feelings and be willing to do and resist more. Resistance and the right measure of ambition are key to success.

3. (Continuous) Education

Education is key to survival. With the challenges of the world, its velocity and mutations only the minds with honest curiosity and able to learn will adapt fast enough. It is the key to keep alive the inner child, that is the ultimate challenge that will help someone to adapt and to evolve in a positive and powerful way. Then you will have pleasure in learning in improving your skills, in education.

Again as Albert Einstein said you need the right balance of education with curiosity: “It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education.”

4. Capacity to control and to have self-discipline

Self-Discipline and Emotional Control are probably the biggest engines for the development of any individual. Without it no one will be able to manage properly his life and challenges. A question to ask often is: am I capable of controlling my own feelings? Do I set the rules of conduct for my actions? These are important things to bear in mind. Social intelligence and emotional order are key to live and to get a well positive energy. In order to get this the capacity of control and self-discipline are the most powerful ways of getting what we wants. Though this is difficult and implies an inner continuous exercise that is by no means easy.

5. Capacity to manage the negative energies

There is no hope of success for the person who gets drown in his own negative personality. Success comes through the application of power, and power is attained through the cooperative efforts of other people. A negative personality will not induce cooperation. Negativity has proved delays and affects performance and the way the brain interacts with its actions, emotions and it drives someone to a lack of power. Negativity is a sucker of sources of energy, and drives people to a continuous self destruction, that leaves ultimately someone nowhere.

Again Einstein: “Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius – and a lot of courage – to move in the opposite direction.”

6. Will power to Fight (mainly inertia and Procrastination)

The biggest of the problems are almost all inside. And to handle it the biggest effort must be done through the mind, through thinking. Sometimes one forgets what is really important. Everyone sometimes leaves the deferment of actions or tasks to a later time, and stays in an immobilizing most of times anger. That is the most worrying part of life and of social behavior, that inertia. But when one makes an effort to get the most of will power, and get things done on time without the downs of procrastination, motivated by the real potential that person can achieve balance and inner strength that will help to get better fulfillment. This is the ultimate greatness, the necessary process of learning. This is a fight that needs to be handle towards a choice of your own circumstances of will power mindset. So bear in mind be always improving thinking. Worship in a long term motivation to deliver the best from within, in the now-land.

Again Einstein: “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”

7. Persistence, Persistence

All great achievers are people of persistence, that don’t give up easily. The important is not so much if you fail, but your capacity to manage its consequences in the immediate present and the afterwards future without worrying to death. The biggest effort to do in life is to get up and stand out when in failure, to persist and to deliver goals, whether they are personal or professional. To do this the virtue of persistence is paramount. Persistence is probably the most powerful weapon for success and realization. It is the engine of the mind, the body, probably one of the most powerful willpower mindsets.

And then everything is about living step by step in the present land without fears in the reality one has, looking over your own shoulder not in the other, the parallel one!

“Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.” again Einstein to finish!
